Starting in March 2020, the United States, and the world, was turned upside down by the COVID-19 virus pandemic.  While strict public health measures were instituted in the spring of 2020, with the result that the number of cases was brought down significantly from the peak, as fall approached and attitudes relaxed, the next wave of the virus greatly exceeded the scale of the spring peak.  As a consequence, most all large-scale public gatherings were prohibited for 2020 starting in March.  The Wapack Trail Race, like all other running races around the country, was another victim of the virus.
